Kray Z Comics and Stories 504: Comics Potpourri

No theme this week, just comics talk as Joe and Cory!! haven’t had a time to just talk comics as if they were hanging out at the comic shop, so you get to listen in. This week, they discuss:

  • For some reason, Cory!! sounds like he is recording from the bottom of a well. No work yet on if Buffalo Bill told him to put the lotion on his skin or he gets the hose.
  • What are Cory!! and Joe’s Holy Grails for collecting
  • Joe talks about how the Transformers toys he sold at Hot Comics are still floating around
  • A quick history of Marvel’s “Enigma Force” and Cory!! digs into the TRUE first appearance of the concept/character in Marvel Preview #4
  • Cory!! wants to borrow $1.5 million from Joe for a comic
  • How sales charts have changed since DC left Diamond.
  • Joe introduces us to Z2 comics, who do graphic novels about musicians.

All this, the usual shenanigans and much, much more!

Kray Z Comics and Stories 502: Hero History Vision and the Scarlet Witch

After the conclusion of WandaVision, a lot of people are curios about the comics connections. Is it based on the comics, how true to the comics characters is the series, and just what IS the background of these characters. Joe and Cory!! do a rare “Hero History” (a series that used to be done by the magazine Amazing Heroes in the 80’s) to explain the convoluted history of these two characters and their connections. They also discuss:

  • Is the Scarlet Witch a mutant? Why or why not?
  • What TV character was the inspiration for The Vision?
  • Yes, the history of the whole thing is convoluted. I’ll be shocked if anyone can follow the Scarlet Witch’s history the first time through.
  • How many times has the Scarlet Witch “turned evil”?
  • What happened to the Vision where he wasn’t used much by Marvel for two decades?

All of this, the usual shenanigans and much, much more!
